I was a nomad long before working online from anywhere was a possibility. I lived in Argentina before most people had computers. When I went to university in Malta, I used the big computers on campus and couldn’t do much more than check email.
These days, you can do all sorts of useful things with computers. Things other people will pay for. There are lots of different ways to make money online. Starting a freelance business is mostly about:
A) Finding a service or product people will pay for
B) Putting your service or product in front of them
That can be tricky, because there’s lots of competition, so you need to find clever ways to grow your business, get clients or traffic, and convert leads into sales. I’m not an expert at everything, but I have started a couple of six figure businesses, and I’m learning more all the time.
Although I talk a lot about art and writing on this site, I think most digital nomads (or people who want to be location independent) are very creative. And I think creative people should find smart ways to make money, so they can work less and do more important things with their time.
So I’m going to map out a step-by-step guide, full of specific tips and resources you can use to build an online business quickly and make it profitable. I’m also going to interview some of my friends and peers on how they started their successful freelance businesses.
We’ll also talk a little bit about what it’s like to really live overseas or travel full-time. It’s not for everyone. But it is pretty fucking cool. If you want to learn how to start a business, or grow your existing one, click the button below to sign up.
