It’s tough to get savvy readers to share your content. Give your visitors some extra motivation with this stylish and simple plugin. Highlighting any text prompts a customizable pop-up to quickly share that text on Twitter or Facebook.
Share buttons at the top or bottom of your WordPress post are common. There are a variety of plugins to make sharing WordPress content to Facebook, Twitter and other social media. But I wanted something a little cooler, something that allows a reader to highlight any phrase or sentence and easily tweet or share just that sentence.
I couldn’t find anything like that, so I had one made. Update: there’s something very similar now on Slate and Medium.
I’m using it on this site now – go ahead and highlight something to see how it works. Awesome right?
Asking people to share your content is ineffective because it’s about you. People don’t want to talk about you – they want something that reflects themselves.
Giving them the control to highlight and share exactly what they want makes it more personal, and lets them keep their feed unique and interesting, leading to higher visitor interaction and a better chance to spread your content.
The ability to select and share key passages that are interesting to specific readers and relevant to their personal networks will drastically improve social interaction and spread your content like wildfire
More precise social media sharing that’s easy and fun. Let your readers choose exactly what they want to share, because it’s about them, not you.
